Tell them: "Take me to Howard!"
When you or a loved one become ill or injured, you need expert care fast. Community Howard Regional Health System’s Emergency Department is always prepared with Board Certified emergency medicine physicians, emergency-trained nurses and other personnel on duty 24 hours a day.
When you come to the Community Howard Regional Health System Emergency Department, you will be greeted by a triage nurse in one of our three private triage rooms. Your condition will be assessed, and, depending on the severity, you will be taken to either a traditional emergency exam room or a room in our Fast Track area .
This six-room Fast Track area is open from 4:00 p.m. until midnight and is available for patients with less serious illnesses and injuries. There's even an exam room in the Fast Track area especially for kids.
Among our traditional exam rooms are rooms designed especially for orthopaedics, ear/nose/throat and OB/GYN.
A 64-channel CT scanner housed in the Emergency Department makes state-of-the-art imaging faster and more accurate for diagnosis of cardiac episodes, cancers, orthopaedic injuries and more.
Community Howard Regional Ambulance Service
If you require an ambulance but your emergency is not life-threatening, you may indicate your hospital of choice. Just tell the emergency medical technician (E.M.T.) or paramedic, “Take me to Howard.” In the case of life-threatening emergencies, patients are always transported to the nearest emergency facility.
Community Howard Regional Ambulance Service will bring a mobile emergency room to your door, saving you the precious time that can save a life. Every time a Community Howard Regional Health System ambulance goes out, a paramedic and an E.M.T. are on the ambulance. Their expert training and the life support equipment on board make them an extension of the hospital's emergency room. Remember to dial 9-1-1 in a life-threatening emergency.
