Rehabilitation
Services
At any given time, 13% of the American public and nearly half
of those over age 75 need some kind of rehabilitation. Recovering from a serious injury or illness can be
one of the greatest challenges a person can face. Rehabilitation helps patients resume healthy, happy and
productive lifestyles.
Howard Regional Health System West Campus Specialty Hospital is an
acute care rehabilitation hospital serving the needs of north central Indiana. Accredited by the Joint
Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Specialty Hospital offers programs for
people who have experienced a disabling injury or illness including:
- Amputation
- Orthopaedic disability
- Cerebrovascular accident/stroke
- Spinal cord dysfunction
- Brain injury
- Major multiple trauma
- Neurological disorders including Multiple
Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Polyneuropathy
- Arthritis (including Rheumatoid Arthritis)
Rehabilitation focuses on three main goals: preventing
secondary complications, maximizing each patient’s abilities and preparing each patient for
reintegration into the community. Individualized and flexible treatment plans are developed with the goal of
helping patients relearn or develop the skills to live as independently as possible after leaving the
hospital.
Sleep
Center
A good night’s sleep is important to our well-being,
providing essential physical and mental restoration. Although many take sleep for granted, an estimated 30%
of the adult population suffers from sleep-related disorders.
If you suffer from one of 84
various sleep disorders, you may need a sleep study. This study, called a polysomnogram, identifies
different sleep stages and classifies various sleep disorders. The Sleep Disorders Center of Howard Regional
Health System West Campus Specialty Hospital is here to help you identify and overcome your sleep
problems.
The West Campus Specialty Hospital is located at 829 North Dixon Road, Kokomo,
