A complex imaging technique, nuclear cardiology testing can be used to detect heart attacks by showing if part of the heart has been damaged, to measure the heart's pumping action and to study the heart's ability to expand or contract. Nuclear scans are often done in conjunction with stress testing. If you would like more information about nuclear cardiology testing, call the ICANL-accredited Nuclear Medicine Department at Howard Regional Health System, 765-453-8597.
Nuclear scans of the heart are helpful in finding coronary artery disease and can be used to:

- measure the heart's pumping action
- study the heart's ability to expand or contract
Routine Nuclear Medicine Scans: Nuclear scans involve injection of a radioactive isotope, followed by one or two 30 minute scans. These scans are often done in conjunction with stress testing.
We are dedicated to making your testing experience a pleasant one. If would like more information, please call us at 765-453-8413.
